Hi, I'm Sara. I'm a New Zealand Registered Nutritionist with a passion for helping you feel your best. I believe that looking after yourself should not be stressful and am able to pull together evidence-based approaches in nutrition, lifestyle and psychology to create an approach that works for you and your goals. I can help you improve your relationship with food if it's gone off track and am adamant that food should be one of life's pleasures, not a source of concern or guilt. You don't need to live on chicken and broccoli to have optimal health.
As well as helping with 'diet rehab', I enjoy working with people that want to have more energy at every age and am also here for post-bariatric patients and those that would like to manage disease risk factors such as high cholesterol.
For most of my working life I have been heavily involved with the food and supplement industries, working in product development, regulation and health and nutrition claims. Through this work, know an awful lot about nutritional supplements, which allows me to take a targeted approach during consultations. You may not need supplements, but if you do, I can advise you which ones will meet your needs.
On a personal level, I enjoy creative pursuits such as playing music, videography and photography and am on a mission to see as much of the world as I can, which does somewhat conflict with my stance as an environmentalist.
Nutritionally, while not fully plantbased, I am a huge fan of eating tasty plants, and focus my own meals around wholefoods, particularly locally grown. Currently, I'm also endeavouring to enhance my skills in the kitchen.
